SAFE SOLUTIONS TO BUILDING MAINTENANCE PROBLEMS

C.A.S.A.L.’s reputation and commitment to safety in its contracting operations is second to none. Although mainly involved in roof and gutter refurbishment using Duoprene 2000 Polyurethane Coatings, the company more and more is asked to provide other facilities for its clients particularly on external steel cladding

Steel wall and roof cladding systems develop surface problems over the years, which lead to severe deterioration of building fabrics as well as spoiling the appearance of the premises. Surface cracking, ‘peel-back’ at overlaps and edges and corrosion of the underlying surface, are the most common. If these defects are left unchecked, the problems will progressively increase, leading eventually to the possible replacement of the cladding itself.

C.A.S.A.L. have coating systems designed to solve these problems as well as restoring the outward appearance of the building. Following surface preparation to deal with defects and corrosion either a coating system matching the previous colour can be applied or a complete change of colour can be provided.

Another area of operation is in the refurbishment of internal cladding and panel systems using specialist non-solvent containing coatings.

Whereas these are suitable for metal substrates they are also used to encapsulate fibrous panels to stabilise the surface, reduce dirt retention and provide decorative finishes.

The company operates within a stringent Health and Safety culture applied during its long experience in roof refurbishment. The same experience and methods are used in these other areas of the Company’s operations. Not only are personnel trained in surface preparation and the application of specialist protective coatings but also in the use of hydraulic access equipment. Where scaffolding access is required this is provided by C.A.S.A.L.’s approved sub-contractors.

Initial free surveys provide information for the development of appropriate specifications as well as for the Project File, which contains the necessary Health and Safety information governing the operation. This includes a site specific Method Statement and Safety Plan as well as Risk Assessments, COSHH files, and other required information.

Coating operations are covered by guarantee, which can be insurance backed if required. For more detailed information…… contact our team on 01759 380 804
